Our Muze Women community rides are about getting out on the bike, enjoying good company and riding together. But cycling comes with risks, and we all have a responsibility to keep ourselves and each other safe. Before joining a Muze Women ride, please read and understand the following conditions.

This Ride Waiver, Risk Acknowledgement and Release Agreement applies to all Muze Women community rides held across Australia, including all states and territories.

By registering for or participating in a Muze Women community ride, you acknowledge and agree to the following conditions.

If you do not agree to these conditions, you cannot participate in a Muze Women ride.

Who can ride

To participate in a Muze Women community ride, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Hold current personal liability insurance covering recreational cycling, such as an appropriate policy from AusCycling, Bicycle NSW, Bicycle Network or Triathlon Australia.
• Have the fitness, experience and skills required for the advertised ride.
• Ride a roadworthy, well-maintained bicycle with working brakes and appropriate front and rear lights.
• Carry a mobile phone, identification, water, nutrition and basic repair equipment.
• Be capable of managing basic mechanical issues or arranging your own assistance if required.

You are responsible for ensuring your insurance provides appropriate coverage and for providing evidence if requested.

Riding safely

All participants agree to:

• Comply with all applicable road rules, cycling regulations and safety requirements in the Australian state or territory where the ride takes place.
• Wear an approved, correctly fitted cycling helmet.
• Follow reasonable safety instructions from Muze Women Ride Captains.
• Communicate hazards and ride considerately around other cyclists, motorists and pedestrians.
• Ride within their own abilities and the advertised pace of the group.
• Respect fellow riders and the communities and environments we ride through.
• Avoid participating while impaired by alcohol, drugs, illness or fatigue.

Muze Women and its Ride Captains reserve the right to refuse or discontinue a rider's participation if their behaviour, equipment or ability presents a safety concern, or if they fail to comply with these conditions.

Understanding the risks

Cycling is an inherently risky activity. Risks may include collisions, falls, road hazards, traffic, adverse weather, equipment failure and the actions of other road users or participants. These risks can result in injury, serious disability, death or damage to property.

By participating in a Muze Women ride, you acknowledge that:

• You understand the inherent risks associated with cycling.
• You voluntarily choose to participate and accept the risks involved.
• You are responsible for your own safety, decisions, equipment and personal belongings.
• You understand that Muze Women rides take place on public roads and that the presence of a Ride Captain does not eliminate cycling risks.
• You are responsible for costs arising from your participation, including medical treatment, transport, bicycle repairs and other personal expenses, subject to applicable law.

Health and medical considerations

You confirm that you are physically and medically capable of participating in the ride.

You are responsible for seeking medical advice if you have any condition or concern that may affect your ability to ride safely.

In the event of an accident or medical emergency, you consent to Muze Women representatives seeking appropriate emergency assistance on your behalf where reasonably necessary.

Release of liability and indemnity

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to release Muze Women, its directors, employees, Ride Captains, volunteers, representatives and sponsors from liability for injury, loss, damage or expense arising from your participation in a Muze Women ride.

You also agree to indemnify these parties against claims, liabilities, losses and reasonable expenses arising from your negligent, unlawful or wrongful acts or omissions during a ride, to the extent permitted by law.

Nothing in this agreement excludes, restricts or modifies any rights, guarantees or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified under the Australian Consumer Law or applicable Commonwealth, state or territory legislation.

Privacy

Muze Women collects and manages personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Information provided in connection with community rides may be used for ride administration, safety communications and emergency management.

General conditions and governing law

This agreement applies to Muze Women community rides conducted throughout Australia. The agreement is governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, subject to any mandatory laws of the Commonwealth or the state or territory in which the ride takes place.

Any exclusion or limitation of liability applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law. If any provision of this agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.

Muze Women may update these conditions from time to time. The version applicable to your participation will be the version presented to you when you register or otherwise agree to participate.

Before joining a Muze Women community ride, please complete the registration and waiver form below. By submitting the form, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to the conditions outlined above, including the acknowledgement of risks and release of liability.
